Privacy policy

qabbel.mt is operated from Malta and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Short version: browsing is anonymous; we only collect personal data when you send an enquiry, we only share it with the insurers you consented to, and you can have it deleted at any time.

What we collect

• Browsing: no accounts. We use privacy-friendly aggregate analytics, and — only if you accept the cookie banner — Google Analytics with IP anonymisation to understand how the site is used; declining changes nothing about how the site works. Clicks through to providers are logged (including IP address, approximate location and device type) to detect fraud and settle referral commissions with providers.
• Enquiries: when you submit an insurance enquiry we collect the details you enter (vehicle, driver profile, contact details) together with a record of your consent.

Lawful basis & sharing

Enquiry data is processed on the basis of your explicit consent, captured with the exact wording you agreed to. It is shared only with the Malta-licensed insurers on our panel so they can quote you, and we keep an audit trail of which insurers received it. We never sell personal data, and we never share it for purposes other than your enquiry.

Retention & your rights

Enquiries are retained for up to 24 months for commission settlement and then deleted. You may at any time request access, correction, deletion, or withdraw consent by emailing privacy@qabbel.mt. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).

Infrastructure

The site is hosted on Vercel with data stored in an EU-region Postgres database (Neon). Transactional email is delivered via Resend. Each processor is bound by a GDPR data-processing agreement.
